To mark World Theatre Day (Thursday 27 March 2025), Fairfield Halls is celebrating its history, community impact, and diverse music, musical, cultural and comedic events programme.

World Theatre Day was created by the International Theatre Institute (ITI) in 1961 to promote the cultural value of theatre, in all its forms, across the world. Recognised by theatre communities and governments around the globe, World Theatre Day is an international celebration of arts and culture that raises awareness on how theatre can benefit individual development and wellbeing.

Last year, Fairfield Halls delivered hundreds of events, generating more than 100,000 ticket sales across a range of events including comedy, dance, music and musicals. 2025’s venue programme promises many more event highlights and cultural performances to encourage Croydon’s residents to enjoy great entertainment.

Highlights in the venue’s iconic Concert Hall include performances from the Kensington Symphony Orchestra; the BRIT School dance showcase; Q The Music’s James Bond Concert Spectacular, and Ellen Kent’s La Bohème and Madama Butterfly. Companies in residence at Fairfield Halls include Talawa, and London Mozart Players.

Harry Hill, Jason Manford, and The Prat Pack (Bradley Walsh, Brian Conley, Shane Richie and Joe Pasquale) are also scheduled to showcase their talents at the venue. Richard O’Brien’s legendary rock ‘n’ roll musical, The Rocky Horror Show is coming to Croydon as part of a new world tour too, thrilling audiences with fun and naughty moments across its weeklong run.

Family events include Dinosaur Adventure Live and The Wiggles: Bouncing Balls Tour. Fairfield’s easter pantomime will also return, with curtains lifting on Pinocchio next month. Visitors are invited to get into the festive spirit this December with other seasonal events including The Nutcracker ballet, The Crooners Christmas Special and Step Into Christmas.

Fairfield Halls’ annual panto will take centre stage at the venue from December 2025 – 4 January 2026; this year’s production is Beauty and the Beast. Promising a spectacular show packed with great talent and incredible production values, tickets are already on sale online. This year’s production will feature dedicated relaxed and captioned shows and additional group shows and school performances*.

As well as entertainment and shows, the venue will be hosting a series of conferences and hospitality events including gala dinners and celebration events. In addition to year-round events available to the public, Fairfield Halls is also a popular venue for private hire. From business events to family celebrations, the venue’s meeting rooms offer excellent service and beautiful spaces for all kinds of events.

Internationally renowned orchestras – including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra - also frequent the venue’s world-class concert hall for private recordings and rehearsals. More than 30 orchestra rehearsals took place at the venue last year.
